Permitting and Inspections

For the health, safety, and welfare of Douglas Township residents, permits are required for most building and construction projects, as well as for septic systems.
MNSPECT is now servicing all permitting for Douglas Township and is the OFFICIAL SEPTIC INSPECTOR for Douglas Township as well.
 
Obtaining a Permit
To obtain a permit for your project download the PDF form found at the bottom of this page, print and fill out the form, and then choose one of the following options:
 
1) Email your permit to Marcy Miller; MNSPECT at mmiller@mnspect.com
 
or
 
2) Mail your permit to MNSPECT.

Permit Fees
Permit application fees vary depending on the project and will be calculated by MNSPECT according to Minnesota Building Code. Some fees can be found here: Fee Schedule and are subject to updates.
 
Inspections
Inspections are performed by MNSPECT Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call at least one business day prior to the desired inspection date. 
If a specific date and time is needed, call well in advance to schedule.
