Obtaining a Permit
The first step to obtain a building permit is to determine if the permit request is changing the footprint of an existing building or adding a new structure. If permit has a footprint change or is a new structure please submit permit application (permit application) to the Township clerk at douglastownship.mn@gmail.com, preferably the week prior to the Planning Commission meeting or bring a completed application to the Planning Commission meeting so you can present your request to the Planning Commission and Township Board for approval. If the permit request is NOT a footprint change or new structure the permit application can be emailed directly to the Building Official at infomn@safebuilt.com. Please see attached form for additional information, including Inspection information. (Building Official Permit List).
